H&C® SX-7 (Siloxane Water Repellent) HB-100 and HB-150
H&C siloxane water repellents are designed to weatherproof old and new concrete and masonry surfaces against natures destructive forces. They provide a long lasting breathable barrier that resists cracking, airborne dust and dirt, salt, efflorescence, and spalling. Refer to specific data sheets and MSDS's for further details.
SX-7 is a 7% siloxane.
HB-100 is a 10% siloxane.
HB-150 is a 15% siloxane.
Where to Use
- Traffic sound barriers
- Cast in place and precast concrete
- Exposed aggregate
- Brick and mortar
- Stucco and sandstone
- Architectural concrete block
- NOT SUITABLE FOR BELOW-GRADE APPLICATIONS OR GYPSUM OR OTHER NONMASONRY SURFACES
H&C SX-7 is a water-based formulation. The substrate will continue to breathe after the coating is applied.
HB-100 and HB-150 are clear oligomeric siloxane water repellents that minimizes iron staining by helping to prevent reinforcing steel from corroding and deteriorating due to water intrusion.

- Stiff broom
- Stiff-bristled nylon or polyester brush
- Low-pressure airless sprayer, a conventional sprayer or a power roller.
- Airless Sprayer Pressure: 200 psi
Tip: .013" - .015" Conventional Sprayer Air Pressure: 10 - 15 psi
Fluid Pressure: 5 - 10 psi
Cap/Tip size: 704FX or equivalent
New concrete should cure a minimum of 28 days. Surface should be clean, free of dirt, oil and grease. New concrete may only require sweeping, however if construction traffic has been excessive, washing with a 2000 psi pressure may be necessary.
On older concrete sandblasting or shot-blasting may be necessary. Rinse thoroughly after chemical cleaning. The surface pores must be opened to allow immediate penetration. The substrate should have a pH level beween 6 - 10.
Air and surface temperature should be between 50º and 90ºF for 24 hours following application. This will ensure proper product penetration. You must protect the coating from rain for 4 to 5 hours to allow the water repellent to become effective.
For vertical surfaces apply the product from the bottom of the wall upwards spraying so that it will run down the surface at least six inches below the spray pattern. For horizontal surfaces, sufficiently flood coat the surface.
Dry to touch in 1 hour
Recoat: minimum of 4 hours
Light Traffic: 2 hours
Heavy Traffic: 72 hours
For a color/seal system on extremely porous substrates, apply a flood coat of HB-100 or HB-150 then 2 coats of H&C Concrete Sealer Solid Color Solvent-Based.
