H&C® Low VOC Concrete Sealer Clear Gloss Solvent-Based

New to the H&C product line is the Low VOC Concrete Sealer Clear Gloss.  This clear sealer is made with exempt solvents that are compliant in the regions of the United States that cannot get xylene or other solvent-borne materials, like California and New York to name a few.  Available in single gallons and five-gallon pails, Low VOC Concrete Sealer Clear Gloss is for use on bare concrete or over the Low VOC Concrete Sealer Solid Color as a clear topcoat.

  1. Product Supplies

    1. Roller Cover 3/8" nap (soft woven)

    8. H&C® Cleaner/Degreaser (if necessary)
    9. H&C ® Etching Solution (if necessary)

  2. Product Preparation

    When applying to bare concrete: all surfaces must be clean, dry and free of grease, oil, paint, sealers etc.  Use H&C Cleaner Degreaser following the label directions, rinse thoroughly and allow the surface to dry. 

     

    New concrete must cure for 45 days.  All horizontal concrete (new or old), must be etched with H&C Etching Solution first for proper adhesion, follow label instructions carefully. For very smooth, or highly troweled surfaces with little or no porosity, use H&C Etching Solution at full strength.  Do not etch painted surfaces, the previous coating must be removed prior to applying H&C Low VOC Concrete Sealer Clear Gloss Solvent-Based.

  3. Product Application

    Allow the Low VOC Concrete Sealer Solid Color Solvent-Based product to dry for at least 12 hours before applying the clear topcoat.  One coat is sufficient when applying over the solid color.  When applying this over bare concrete, however, 2 coats may be necessary for maximum protection against UV rays and chemicals.

     

    Simply roll on, keeping a wet edge going in the same direction during the entire application.  When applying a second coat, apply it in the opposite/perpendicular direction of the first coat, waiting 4 hours between recoats. 

     

    Dry to the touch: 15 minutes

    Foot Traffic in 1 hour

    Recoat: 4 hours

    Heavy Traffic:  72 - 96 hours
