New concrete must cure for 45 days. No etching is required when using on a textured or broom finish.  For very smooth surfaces (highly troweled with no porosity), use 1 part H&C Etching Solution to two parts water. All surfaces should be clean, dry and free of grease, oil, paint, sealers etc.  To clean, use H&C Cleaner Degreaser, following label instructions.

  3. Product Application

One coat is usually adequate, but for extremely porous surfaces, apply a second coat within 2-4 hours of the first coat.  Do not over apply this product, it may result in a hazy or whitish finish.

If your surface has corners or edges, coat those first with your brush.  Then using a synthetic brush, pad, roller mop, squeegee or sprayer, apply one coat to the entire surface.

On horizontal surfaces, remove puddles by working the product into the surface or wiping it with a piece of cloth.
